The general approach and strategy of Midplan & Associates throughout its tenure as a consulting practice in town and regional planning has been to be “hands on”. The approach of the principal(s) of the practice is to be directly involved in all projects and to guide and direct projects by personal involvement throughout.

This has paid dividends in that the responsibility of professional work remains that of the principal. Planning technicians are only used to work under the supervision and guidance of principals and in this manner receives the necessary transfer of skills and empowerment. Once this process is completed, a new planner with suitable experience is released into a role of being able to take full responsibility of planning and development tasks.
